OUR  PORTFOLIO

The Cogentrix portfolio of power generating facilities consists of a balanced mix of highly efficient gas-fired combined-cycle, rapid-start peaking, solar thermal, hydro and lower energy cost coal-fired facilities. Most of the plants operate under long-term power purchase agreements or tolling arrangements with investment grade utility customers, providing a stable, well-diversified base of operations.

An important milestone for Cogentrix was the February 2009 acquisition of Sunray Energy, LLC facility. Sunray is comprised of the SEGS I and SEGS II solar trough, thermal generating facilities located in Daggett, California. As a result of the acquisition, Cogentrix is now one of only a few owners of commercial scale solar thermal plants in the United States.

In February 2010, Cogentrix finalized its acquisition of Eti Elektrik (“Eti”), a joint stock company organized under the law of Turkey, completing an effort originally begun in October 2008. Eti, headquartered in Istanbul, owns a portfolio of in-construction, licensed, and license-pending Turkish power generating assets. Today the portfolio includes approximately 2,300 MW of hydro, wind, and thermal projects, 480 MW of which are high value hydroelectric plants located throughout Turkey.
