PLAINS END

Plains End is comprised of two units: (i) Plains End I, an approximately 113 MW natural gas-fired reciprocating engine peaking facility that began commercial operations in May 2002 and (ii) Plains End II, an approximately 115 MW natural gas-fired reciprocating engine peaking facility that began commercial operations in May 2008. Plains End sells Power to Public Service Company of Colorado pursuant to an integrated set of PPAs under which each of PEI and PEII are contracted to PSCo through May 2028. Cogentrix owns 20% of Plains End and operates and manages the facility.
