CARNEYS POINT

Carneys Point is a 262 MW pulverized coal-fired cogeneration facility located within the grounds of the DuPont Chambers Works, an industrial complex in Carneys Point, New Jersey. Cogentrix owns a 12% interest in Carneys Point. The project began commercial operations in March 1994. Approximately 20 MW of capacity is sold to the industrial site host, E.I. DuPont De Nemours and Company, through a power and steam sales agreement. The remaining capacity and energy are sold to Atlantic City Electric under a PPA that continues through March 2024. Carneys Point was among the environmental pioneers of the U.S. coal-fired fleet, as it was constructed with low NOx burners, scrubbers and SCR.
