Charlotte, NC.—February 2, 2010—Cogentrix Energy, LLC (“Cogentrix”), through its wholly owned subsidiary Cogentrix International UK Limited, completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% interest in Eti Elektrik (“Eti”) not already owned by Cogentrix. Eti Elektrik is a Turkish independent power producer headquartered in Istanbul that owns a portfolio of in-construction, licensed, and license-pending Turkish power generation assets. The portfolio currently includes approximately 2,300 MW of hydro, wind and thermal projects, 480 MW of which are high value hydroelectric plants located throughout Turkey.
